Connecticut Music Technology Day 2023 Recap

Yesterday I had the absolute pleasure of presenting a few sessions on behalf of MusicFirst at the first ever Connecticut Music Technology Day 2023 held at the Bristol Arts & Innovation Magnet School in Bristol, CT. The event was co-sponsored by Focusrite. I was joined by 3 wonderful presenters and dear friends, Barbara Freedman, Amy Burns, and Wayne Splettstoezer as well as Jason Panucci and Walt Straiton from MusicFirst. I also had the distinct pleasure of seeing two of my dearest friends, Dr. Lee Whitmore and Stefani Langol. It was a great day.

There were 8 sessions that focused on topics such as podcasting, creating educational resources with Canva, audio basics, lesson plans for middle and high school music technology classes, as well as an overview of the MusicFirst Classroom and our latest product, MusicFirst Elementary.

I was VERY excited to announce that MusicFirst has just hired Amy Burns to be our Elementary Educational Consultant. She will be spearheading our efforts at the elementary level and is such a huge addition to our team. MusicFirst Elementary co-creator, Paul Fletcher, was even at the event - all the way from England. Paul and Amy had the chance to meet and discuss all of the amazing possibilities for this groundbreaking new product.

It was a fantastic day of focused professional development and the attendees all had some wonderful feedback. The facility we were in was absolutely gorgeous and so conducive to events like this. We look forward to returning again in the near future.
