Introducing YuStudio

With the launch of MusicFirst Elementary here in the US about a month ago, a VERY cool piece of software is now available as a part of the Creative Tools area of the MusicFirst Elementary dashboard. These Creative Tools are included for no extra charge, and they are very powerful. One of those tools is called YuStudio, and it may just be worth purchasing MusicFirst Elementary just to access it. What is YuStudio you ask? Here we go…

YuStudio is a fully featured digital audio workstation (DAW) that runs completely online in the browser. As well as supporting audio recording and MIDI input, YuStudio commissioned a series of high-quality loops and sounds from top musicians, including percussion from Evelyn Glennie, the world’s leading solo percussionist. It is compatible with most devices, including mobile phones and Chromebooks. To read a fully in-depth review of the product, check out this article in Music Teacher Magazine, published in the UK.

YuStudio has all the features you would expect from an online DAW, but there is one significant feature that sets it apart from all others - it allows students to import VIDEOs and create film scores. I’ll say that again because it bears repeating - it allows students to import VIDEOs and create film scores.

Another significant difference is that it has a built-in notation editor so that students can input notes on a score in a track, rather than relying on playing in notes on a keyboard or clicking them in using piano roll entry.

Charanga has been around for 27+ years in the music education market in the UK and more than 60% of primary schools are using their award-winning platforms. They were recently awarded “Best Digital Learning Product” at the 2023 BETT Show in London - one of the most prestigious awards for education products. I am absolutely THRILLED that we have partnered with them to create MusicFirst Elementary. For now, YuStudio is available ONLY in MusicFirst Elementary. If you’d like to try this amazing piece of software, get your FREE 30-day trial to MusicFirst Elementary today and start creating music with your students!
