Musical Mastery now available in PracticeFirst!
More terrific news from PracticeFirst! We have now added the Musical Mastery series of method books for beginning band. Written by a team of current middle school, high school, and university band directors, this innovative and unique method book offers a very different but highly effective approach. Each student book is individually created to cover comprehensive instrument specific instruction for woodwind and brass instruments. The corresponding teacher's editions include detailed pedagogy, scope and sequence, troubleshooting information, and much more.
Unlike other method books, students aren’t all learning the same tune at the same time, but instead are focusing on the unique playing techniques required to play the individual instrument. While there are full band scores in the series, it is mainly a technical method book. I have had the chance to look through it pretty extensively and I can say that this is a PERFECT way to teach beginning band students. I love the fact that it is written by actual teachers, each highly accomplished in the band world.
