TMEA Recap

This week I was in San Antonio, Texas for the annual TMEA Conference. I have been coming here since 1997 and it is probably the highlight of the annual conference season. Pretty much ALL of my music technology family is here, as well as 25,000 other music educators and their students from around the state. This year, the MusicFirst booth was VERY busy - bustling with energy around our elementary offering, MusicFirst Elementary, our TIA Assessment solution, and the many amazing software programs that are available for performance ensembles, music theory, general music, composition, mariachi, and more. It was a GREAT show for us.

I had the pleasure of presenting two sessions on behalf of MusicFirst: Podcasting & Music: The Perfect Mix and Plug & Play for General Music: Engaging the Other 80%. Both sessions went very well and I think the audience really enjoyed the various software, resources and integration strategies I shared. My favorite part of the show was meeting SO many of my dear music tech friends, including Dr. Barbara Freedman, Mike Olander, Dr. Keith Dye, Natalia Buitrago, Amy Burns, Paul Fletcher, David Smolover, Katie Argyle, Dr. Adrianna Marshall, Richard McCready, John Nieto, Heath Jones, Dr. Rick Dammers, VJ Manzo, and many, many more.

I am off the road next week and looking forward to spending a few nights in my own bed. Until next year, San Antonio!
